The Winning Team!
Eco2 Press Release
28th June 2012
The event raised £240 for the charity, as teams from Eco2, marine renewables company, Tidal Energy Ltd and small-scale wind renewables company Kinetica Energy fought to earn the title of Skittles Champion 2012.
Entrants paid £5 to take part in the event, which was held at the Halfway Pub in Cardiff, and further money was raised by holding a raffle on the evening.
Eira Gwynn, Fundraising Manager at the Christian Lewis Trust Kids Cancer Charity, said: “We all had a fantastic time and are very grateful for the commitment shown to us by these companies and for the money they raised on the night.
“We are looking forward to being involved with many more of these events, as we know they’ve got a lot planned. The money will really make a difference to the children and their families we work with in South-Wales who are affected by cancer.”
Rebecca Jones from Eco2, who managed the event said, “We are lucky to have a team of people working here who are prepared to get so wholeheartedly involved with our charity initiatives.
“We have a varied programme of fundraising events planned throughout the year to ensure we raise our target for the Christian Lewis Trust. It is a really worthwhile cause and we will do our best to make a difference to the children and families who are in need of extra support during difficult times.”
The Christian Lewis Trust Kids Cancer Charity cares for and supports families affected by children’s cancer by providing holidays and family respite breaks, play therapy and bereavement support to those in need.
