Fuel / Quality Inspector, Templeborough Biomass Power Plant, Rotherham

The Fixed Term Contract Fuel Inspector role at Templeborough Biomass Power Plant involves the processing of fuel deliveries at the power station. The purpose of the role is to inspect and sample tipped loads of fuel to more accurately report the moisture content and general quality. As this is a newly created position, it is expected that you will help design the appropriate operating rhythm and processes required to carry out the role in conjunction with your manager. The role also includes lab duties to assess the incoming fuel deliveries against specifications.

The initial fixed term for this role is 6 months, however, this may be extended.

The Role:

  • Accept/reject deliveries of fuel at the plant, recording all necessary data on the booking system in accordance with procedures. Log and store samples for each load as required.
  • Analyse samples for moisture content, size distribution and any potential contaminates.
  • Enter results against each load into the database system.
  • Prepare samples for collection by external laboratories.

Skills and Behaviours:

We are looking for someone who has some inspection, testing or quality control experience ideally. This role will require the jobholder to be meticulous, methodical and able to input data of high importance accurately into our systems and also working within Microsoft Excel.

Other skills that would be beneficial include:

  • General IT Literacy in MS Office, including Microsoft Teams, Word, and Outlook. System training will be provided.
  • Have the ability to work autonomously but must be a team player.
  • Have the ability to learn and understand the processes quickly and with accuracy.
  • Drive or have reliable transport to the site.
