Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician
Location: Norwich and Bury St Edmunds
Eco2 Management Services Ltd (EMSL) is seeking a dedicated full-time Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician to join our team at Low Carbon Farming. This role is hands-on and crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our energy centres in Norwich and Bury St Edmunds.
Role Details:
- Position: Permanent, full-time
- Hours: Likely 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility
- Location: Based at Low Carbon Farming sites in Norwich and Bury St Edmunds

- The package for this role includes:
- An hourly rate of up to £14.50 per hour.
- Overtime paid at 1.5 x basic rate.
- £150 payment per week for being on call. The rota has each team member on call for 1 week out of 3 (moving to 1 week out of 4 in time).
- Access to a company vehicle for all work-related travel, including fuel card.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, housekeeping, and minor repairs on plant equipment, services and buildings.
- Support the operations team across both sites, with a company vehicle provided for travel.
- Ensure reliable delivery of heat, power, and carbon dioxide by conducting planned maintenance and responding swiftly to issues.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and supervise contractors on-site.
- Uphold the highest standards of quality, health, safety, and environmental practices.
Who You Are:
- Previous experience in maintenance or operations (e.g., groundworker, site operator, or maintenance roles).
- Mechanical engineering knowledge, particularly with pumps, motors, etc., in a maintenance environment.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to fault-find systematically.
- Proactive and able to work independently with initiative.
- Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders.
- Experience in supervising subcontractors.
- Ability to communicate confidently, clearly, and knowledgeably in both written and verbal English.
- Experience working in a safety-first environment; formal qualifications (e.g., IOSH) are a plus.
- Able to prioritise tasks in a pressured environment.
- Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK without employer sponsorship.
- Comfortable working in a small, dynamic team, willing to tackle both complex and routine tasks.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel) and general IT literacy. Experience with apps or systems like CMMS or Facilities Management Information Systems is a bonus.
